This one was actually one of my very first festival experiences. Always good for some very nice names, this year is not an exception at all. So if you’ve -like myself- failed to get your filthy paws on a ticket for AC/DC, Rock Zottegem will surely be a nice way to get rid of the disappointment.

This friday 10th of july, the party will be off to a great start with German folk punkers of Fiddler’s Green (17h). Fans of Dropkick Murphy’s will definitely love this one. Around 19h15 we will welcome British metal crusaders Saxon to the stage. People who’ve seen the great Biff Byford live before will confirm that he still pretty much owns every stage he climbs.
The biggest name this year are without a doubt Toto (24h). Legendary as they are, the Americans probably don’t need a written endorsement to convince you to go check them out. Song titles such as Rosanna, Hold The Line and the amazing Africa would already do the trick.
Other acts: Jett Rebel (18h10); Novastar (20h45); Ed Kowalczyk (ex-Live,22h15)
The saturday also holds some nice names to go check out. At 18h30, Belgian jurassic rockers The Scabs for instance. I’ve always found they have some sort of The Rolling Stones vibe on stage. Especially guitarist Willy Willy. Classics like Robbing A Liquor Store, Don’t You Know and the great Hard Times will definitely be worth your wile.
With Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD), the organisation has caught another classic band not needing any introduction. Everyone who witnessed the eighties will remember songs such as Electricity, Enola Gay and the particular type of dance moves that fit them. So go get your old black trench coat and mascara, it’s time to go dance like you just dropped your keys!
Other acts: Zwartwerk (15h15); The Mirror Trap (16h15); Yellow Claw (17h15); Arsenal (21h20); Headliner: Placebo (23h20)
